Voluntary Arts Week is organising a UK-wide CraftBomb and want you to join in!

On Saturday 11 May, Voluntary Arts Week are planning the biggest CraftBomb the UK and Republic of Ireland have ever seen - and they need your help to make it happen!

Voluntary Arts Week is a week long celebration of amateur arts and crafts and takes place from 11 - 19 May. This year they are planning an ambitious 'CraftBomb' in partnership with local crafters, artists, arts and crafts groups and community groups.

CraftBomb will transform buildings, parks and gardens into a riot of colourful craftwork. So whether you knit, sew, crochet, quilt, stitch or weave, join the craft event of the year and take to the streets - literally! Add some colour to your community!

To get involved in the CraftBomb, visit the Voluntary Arts Week website at www.voluntaryartsweek.org where you can download a free CraftBomb pack, which will provide you with step by step advice on how to plan your CraftBomb, what to make and how to go about seeking permission.

And if you're an amateur group running an arts event, show or exhibition between 11-19 May, you can add your event to the Voluntary Arts Week website and tell everyone about it.

Don't forget, if you're on Twitter, spread the word using the hashtag #CraftBomb.
