The end of this month heralds the Bard's 450th birthday & the V&A Museum are celebrating with a bake off!
Cakespeare: Win a Weekend for Two in Stratford-upon-Avon
Design Shakespeare’s 450th Birthday Cake
William Shakespeare was born 450 years ago on 23 April 1564. And what better way to celebrate the Bard’s big day than with a fabulous birthday cake?

The V&A would like you to design, make and decorate a cake inspired by Shakespeare. You could celebrate the man himself, his greatest works, or even his theatrical legacy. They need to you to muster all of your culinary and art and design skills to come up with a baked marvel – a fairy cake fit for Titania, or a sinfully decadent cream cake that would make Falstaff swoon.
Jane Asher, actress, author and baker, took her own Shakespeare birthday cake into the Museum to kick-start the competition, and to get your culinary and creative juices flowing.
Upload a photo of your cake to Instagram or Twitter for a chance to win a weekend for two in Stratford-upon-Avon with tickets to a play by the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Tag your photo with the hashtag #Cakespeare and make sure you upload it by 4 May 2014. The winner will be chosen by a panel of expert V&A judges who will be looking for the cake that shows the greatest design, flair and which best sums up Shakespeare’s 450th birthday.
So will it be Much Ado about Muffin? A Midsummer Night’s Cream? Or perhaps even The Taming of the Choux?
