Don't miss this new Kaffe Fassett exhibition at the American Museum in Britain 22 March – 2 November
World-renowned knitwear and textile designer Kaffe Fassett returns to the American Museum in Britain, in 2014 not only to celebrate his fifty years of working as an artist and colourist, but also his fifty-year-long association with the American Museum.
The Colourful World of Kaffe Fassett is a brand new exhibition curated by theatrical designer Johan Engels, and promises to be as colourful as the dazzling pieces on display. When Kaffe first moved to Britain in the 1960s he was inspired by the Museum’s diverse collection of textiles, especially quilts. He noted, “As an American I am proud to see my aesthetic history so brilliantly displayed.”

The exhibition, held at the American Museum in Bath, 22 March – 2 November, will feature over one hundred pieces of Kaffe’s textile art, including knitwear, needlepoint, beading and quilts, as well as mosaics and still-life paintings on loan from his personal collection. Part of the exhibition will even be a recreation of his studio space, giving a glimpse of the private man behind the public façade. Don’t miss the chance to see this living legend’s incredible work up close. For more information visit www.americanmuseum.org.
